Heather Serene Barnhart, MS CCC-SLP

Owner/Speech Language Pathologist

Heather has extensive experience working with individuals with communication deficits across the lifespan. She has worked in a variety of settings, including schools, early intervention, skilled nursing, and home health. Heather is highly passionate and skilled at implementing evidence-based approaches to therapy, incorporating client and family goals, and thinking outside the box in order to reach each individual’s highest potential in and out of therapy.

Heather started her career by working with children with Autism and in the last few years has shifted her focus to treating adults with neurological impairments affecting speech, language, and cognition. She has a particular passion for serving stroke survivors. Check out her Youtube channel Stroke Champs and join the Stroke Champs newsletter here.

Heather received her Master’s of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from Sacramento State University. She is certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed in the state of California. She is an affiliate with the National Aphasia Association and certified in Speak OUT!, a therapy program specifically designed for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease, created by the Parkinson Voice Project.

In her free time, Heather enjoys listening to live music, eating sushi, and finding fun projects to do with her husband (they recently renovated a van to travel around in).
